I’ve been told many times that I am a patient person.\u00a0 When it comes to my business, however, I don\u2019t feel very patient.\u00a0 I’ve read
\n\"iStock_000001393111Medium\"<\/a>the stories, watched the biographies, and in theory, understand that there\u2019s no such thing as an overnight success.\u00a0 I\u2019m not looking for overnight success; I\u2019m just looking for 4 to 6 weeks success.\u00a0 I can\u2019t be the only one, can I?<\/p>\n

I’ve heard it said that we\u2019re living in an era of instant gratification.\u00a0 It\u2019s why Netflix releases all 13 seasons of House of Cards at once and we gobble them up like drug fiends!\u00a0 The reason why I sometimes feel handcuffed to my smartphone, feeling the need to respond to every text and email immediately, regardless of what else I had going on.\u00a0 It\u2019s also, I suppose, the reason why I occasionally feel anxious about whether or not I\u2019m doing all I can to grow my business and achieve the success that I\u2019m looking for.\u00a0 (If you can relate, can I get an Amen?)<\/p>\n

I saw a quote on Facebook the other day that really resonated with me.\u00a0 \u201cGood things come to those who wait.<\/span>\u00a0 Good things come to those who work their asses off and never give up\u201d.\u00a0 That\u2019s what I choose to believe is true.\u00a0 When you plant seeds, you don\u2019t just put them in the ground and come back in a few months and collect your crop.\u00a0 You have to make sure you plant the seed in fertile soil that provides it with the sunlight it needs to grow.\u00a0 You make sure it has enough water and nutrients, and you do what you can to keep little critters from enjoying the fruits of your labour before you do!<\/p>\n

Patience is important.\u00a0 Things aren’t\u00a0going to happen because we want them to; they\u2019re going to happen when the time is right.\u00a0 We have all seen what can happen when we try to rush or force things to happen.\u00a0 It often doesn’t work out the way that we want and can create more obstacles rather than get us where we want to be.\u00a0 I believe patience needs to be accompanied by persistence, commitment and determination.\u00a0 They are the dream team you need with you as you pursue your goals.\u00a0 Cultivate your goals, commit to tending to them regularly, and don\u2019t be deterred by lost crops due to frost and other unpredictable challenges.\u00a0 Continue to be patient, remind yourself that you\u2019re hard work will pay off and have faith that everything is unfolding as it should, even if it\u2019s not on your timeline.<\/p>\n
