This weekend I watched a video with Idris Elba in it<\/a>. I\u2019ve included the link because it is definitely worth the watch. In it, he\u2019s asking strangers what they want to be when they grow up. Some laugh, some seem surprised by the question. After a while though, they start to share their dreams.<\/p>\n

It can be easy to think that our childhood dreams can never be a reality. We justify not putting much thought into it because it was a childish dream. As adults, some of us believe that we don\u2019t have time to think about what we want to do. We think we\u2019re better off focusing on what we have <\/em>to do. This video, challenges us to question why we\u2019ve given up on our dreams.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s never too late to make our dreams a reality. Whether you want to learn how to play an instrument, write a book or start a business; anything is possible if you want it bad enough! Instead of living life we regret about the things we could have done, or the opportunities we said no to, we need to focus on what we can do today, right now, to make our dreams come true.<\/p>\n

The key to realizing our dreams is the belief that they are possible. Without faith that even the seemingly impossible is possible gives us the motivation and inspiration required to persist through any challenge. When we are able to believe in our ability to make our dreams come true, we connect with the people and resources to help us make it so.<\/p>\n

Maybe when you were younger, you were told that your dreams for the future weren\u2019t realistic. You might have been advised that no one has ever made money doing what you wanted to do. The other day I met someone who shared their story of a friend who refused to get a 9-5 despite pressure from his family and found a way to make a living selling stuff on e-bay! To me, that\u2019s proof that where there\u2019s a will, there is a way. It\u2019s all about knowing what you want, staying focused, and being open to all the avenues to get you closer to the achievement of your goal.<\/p>\n

If we\u2019re not growing, we remain stagnant. Every day is an opportunity to grow into a better version of yourself that you were the day before. It\u2019s never too late to do something new and different. If you\u2019re not feeling fulfilled in your life today, maybe it\u2019s time to ask yourself, \u201cWhat do I want to be when I grow up.\u201d Once you can answer that, you can develop a plan and take action to make it happen!\u00a0\u2665<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
