May will mark a year since we made the move to live in another country. We did an entire year without experiencing snow (minus social media posts), and we’ve had friends and family visit, so we don’t have time to get homesick.

We have a new home now, so we won’t have to deal with the difficult landlord anymore. 🎊

I was talking to someone recently, and they commented that Canada is a country we vacation in now, and I guess she was right. There’s still a lot to learn, and more adjustments to the new status quo are a work in progress.

While I always take every chance to wave when we pass the Canadian Embassy, the only thing I miss about living in Canada is the convenience. We don’t have access to Skip the Dishes, DoorDash or Uber, but I’ve learned that those are first-world problems, and it’s a sacrifice I’m willing to make to have a more peaceful way of life.

If someone had told me five years ago that I’d be married and living in Jamaica, I would have laughed and said that the person has an imaginative mind, yet here we are.

I’m enjoying the slower pace of life, the quiet, seeing all kinds of animals and being surrounded by nature. While I never considered myself a city girl (maybe a suburban girl?), I’ve surprised myself at how much I enjoy living a country life, with kid goats bleating as our natural alarm clock.

I know there’s a saying that says we plan, and God laughs. I’m pretty sure I’m always cracking them up with my whimsical plans. The beautiful thing about it is that after God finishes laughing, he gives me something better than I ever imagined. ❤️

We’re getting ready to visit Canada for a couple of weeks.
